Telenor Pakistan has joined hands with Tameer Micro Finance Bank to introduce branchless mobile banking. They claim it to be the first in Pakistan but MCB has already done an attempt to launch branchless mobile banking. But the innovation brought by Telenor in terms of services offered in this branchless mobile banking product can be termed as first in Pakistan.

Telenor has been running a teaser campaign on facebook and blogosphere with an iPod as a prize to the winner who could guess what is EP.

Telenor’s easypaisa site quotes this about the new service:

easypaisa is the easiest way to conduct your financial transactions whether they are related to paying your utility bills, sending/receiving money within Pakistan, receiving money from abroad etc. Currently easypaisa is starting with utility bill payments with many other products to be available soon.

Easypaisa is not only for Telenor customers only rather it is available for everyone. Any body can just walk in to more than 2000 designated easypaisa outlets through out the country and hand over the bill with payment which would be processed easily and quickly. The bill would be stamped as paid for future reference and customer would also receive a confirmation SMS of paid bill.
